To revisit Range Anxiety

As I said last time, my anxiety is rarely the range, but almost certainly my confidence in the charging infrastructure.

This weekend I repeated the 90mile journey is zero degrees weather and was needing to make it a return trip. I got there with 30% to spare, but I needed to charge for the return visit.

The new-found Super-quick 150KWh machine was out of action (long term), the 2 in the centre were offline, and the journey made to the recommended j15n for a gridaserve found me in a. 4-car 3hr wait

I decided to push on to the next charging point at Brackley – 16miles away with 20 dubious miles range available.

The Brackley SF connect worked a treat at 175KWh and there were 2. A fill-up was possible in short order, but the journey from the first point, to the second, third and fourth points really got me wondering if leaving it until the available battery is below 30% is really an adequate buffer…
